Generalate
The headquarters of the Generalate of the Sisters of Christian Charity has returned to Paderborn after having been located in Rome, the center of Christianity, from 1955 to December 2017. With renewed hope we began a new chapter in the place of the origin of our religious community. From Paderborn, the heart of the Congregation, we want to radiate the charism we have received, wherever the Lord calls us today. We wish to be a bond of communion for the whole Congregation so that we may be "one heart and one soul," according to the wish of our Foundress, Blessed Pauline von Mallinckrodt. We want to respond to the needs of our time by bringing the love of God to all those who come to us. We hope that this website will be a means to that end.

I entered the Congregation on June 16, 1978. I was born in Argentina and I met the Sisters of Christian Charity when I was five years old because they were my teachers. I later taught in our Mallinckrodt schools in Argentina, then I served my community in the Uruguay-Argentina Region and in Rome. I am now currently in Paderborn, serving as the Superior General.
One of my favorite thoughts of Mother Pauline is: "Let us always keep our gaze on Jesus. Inwardly and outwardly let us imprint Jesus in our whole being, thoughts, words and deeds. In all that each day brings with it, let us immediately look to Jesus" (1853).

Originally from Poughkeepsie, NY. I entered the Aspirancy of the Sisters of Christian Charity in high school. Earlier years of ministry were mostly spent as an elementary school teacher, then as a high school theology teacher. After 25 years in the classroom, I have ministered as President of Assumption College for Sisters, a Provincial Councilor, and as Resource Director at the Diocesan Evangelization Center. Pastoral work in parishes has been the most recent ministry. I am humbled by my election to the General Council. I can only echo the words of Mother Pauline: “The moment we realize God’s wish we must be ready to relinquish everything, even that which we cherish most.” I trust He will continue to give me the grace to be prayerful, energetic, and faithful.

I have been a Sister of Christian Charity since 1962. My studies included training as a kindergarten teacher, social pedagogue, followed by studies in sociology and German studies pedagogy. My ministry began with teaching activities at vocational schools and high schools. Since 1980 I have been active in various tasks of the General Administration: Secretary General, Assistant General, and Superior General. A word of Pauline von Mallinckrodt that accompanies me in a special way is: "You, Lord, have always done everything well. My whole soul trusts you in life and in death."

I am Sister Ma. Adriana Mateos, from Durazno, Uruguay, Sudamerican Province. I learned about the Congregation through my youngest sister, who attended the Inmaculada Concepción School in Durazno. Since then she made me love Mother Pauline and her beliefs. From that moment, the maxims that encourage and strengthen me over and over again are: “It is a very great grace that God call us for the extension of his Kingdom” and “The most imperturbable joy is the one rooted in the peace of the soul and its reason to be in a friendly and religious seriousness "

In 1980 I entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Christian Charity in Mendham, NJ. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and History. Previously I have ministered as a teacher in grade school and as a secretary for the North American Eastern Province. Currently, I am the Secretary General. The theme of my life has always been “to be emptied of self so as to be filled with God, and then poured forth generously in service to others.” There are many thoughts of Mother Pauline that inspire me, but in recent years these words have become a part of my daily prayer: “Dear Lord, make known to us your holy will and help us run to fulfill it” (July 18, 1867).

I have been a Sister of Christian Charity since 1963 and my home province is N. A. East located in Mendham, NJ. My studies included: Mathematics, Chemistry and Accounting. I have ministered as a mathematics teacher and as an administrator in high school, and as an administrator in Congregational activities: Assistant Provincial and General Treasurer, General Councelor, and General Treasurer.
Two maxims of Mother Pauline have encouraged me in my trust in Jesus and in my love for him: "You, Lord, have ever done all things well and will continue to do all things well for all eternity. My whole soul trusts you in life as in death" (Mother Pauline, January 6, 1847). "O Jesus, I love You, I want to love You always, You alone. Let me bring every sacrifice that You ask of me joyfully. I am Yours …" (Mother Pauline, February 1853).
